The Voice UK 2016 - the knockouts

This is when sing gets real. The knockout stage is always rough: judges have to take their 8 contestants down to just 3. This week saw Paloma and Ricky's teams singing their hearts out to try take a slot for the live shows. Sending 5 people home is a tough decision, but more so when the talent is THIS good. All the contestants take to the stage and watch each other's performances there and then, which we can imagine probably doesn't do much for the ol' nerves if everyone else is smashing it!

If you missed the show, take a peek below at the final 3 for both judges. We're feeling the loss of Rick Snowdon from Paloma's team - when she said he looks like the love child of Kurt Cobain and Brad Pitt, she wasn't kidding! We also felt a huge pinch on Ricky's team when he let go of Mia, who belted out Who's Loving You, and bare-footed Rachel who took Nirvana's hit Come As You Are and made it soulful. These two had serious vocal skills; we hope they return next year.

Congratulations to all those who did make it through and we look forward to seeing more from them on the live shows! Check out their winning knockout performances below:
