NFL Super Bowl XLIX - The half-time show!

A giant tiger, dancing sharks, human chess-pieces, Missy Elliott and Lenny Kravitz as backing singers - everything Katy Perry needed last night to put on a mega performance at the NFL Super Bowl XLIX. For those that aren't roman numeral-savvy, last night Katy Perry was the chosen one to deliver the half-time performance at the 49th NFL Super Bowl.

With a list of past performers including The Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, and Madonna - the pressure was on for a killer twelve and a half minute performance from Perry, especially after Bruno Mars knocked it out the park (wrong sport?) last year. But she nailed it, and with the help of dancing sharks, beach balls and Lenny Kravitz, she managed to cram in six of her top tracks including Roar, Teenage Dream and California Gurls. We feel sorry for the ‘out-of-time’ dancing shark who’s taken a slating in this morning’s press - Perry doesn't look too happy about it either...

NFL Super Bowl half-time shows have seen some HUGE acts since it all kicked off in 1967, here’s who we've been treated to over the last ten years...

2015 - Katy Perry

2014 - Bruno Mars

2013 - Beyonce

2012 - Madonna

2011 - Black Eyed Peas

2010 - The Who

2009 - Bruce Springsteen

2008 - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

2007 - Prince

2006 - The Rolling Stones

Wonder who’s lined up for the big 50th Super Bowl next year? No pressure! One performance that has truly gone down in history was from the King of Pop himself. Here’s MJ’s unforgettable half-time show from 1993 at the NFL Super Bowl XXVII in Pasadena, California.
