For full details read the blog here

If you're enjoying some Irish themed fun at home, we suggest getting out the karaoke and having a decent knees up at home! So, we've gone in search of the top 8 Irish singers to start off your shamrock clad party. To enjoy our full St Patrick's Day playlist, click here

1. Hozier - Take Me To Church

This may come as a shock but, Hozier isn't his real name. Wait for it...it's Andrew! Hozier hit the ground running with his debut EP Take Me To Church. The song went global and he became an instant household name. Oh, and he's only 26 years old. Smashing life.

2. Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U

Unless you're a die-hard fan of O'Connor, you probably won't be able to name another song she sung. However, Nothing Compares 2 U is such a timeless tear-jerker, there's no need for a follow up. But we must insist on reminding you all, this was an original Prince tune. Yep, it's a cover.

3. The Corrs - Breathless

It took us a long time to be able to tell the sisters apart. In fact, we still get muddled. If you say "the sister with a pretty face and long dark hair" you're still none the wiser. All we know is, they're all beautiful and sing together in glorious harmony.

4. U2 - One

Bono is a Dublin born and raised singing legend. Aside from his huge hits with band U2, he's now known as one of the world's leading philanthropic celebrities. He campaigns against third world debt and African plight. What a guy.

5. Westlife - Flying Without Wings

We used to think (and hoped) that the Irish population all looked like they could belong in Westlife. Sadly, popping over to Dublin for a weekend immediately dispelled the idea that all young Irish men are global heartthrobs.

6. Boyzone - Words

We're not sure if you've noticed, but Ronan Keating never ages. He must be taking the same elixir that Pharrell is. Try not to freak out when we tell you that Boyzone first came to light back in 1993.

7. The Script - The Man Who Can't Be Moved

There are actually 3 band members here, but we guess you're all familiar with lead vocalist Danny, especially after his stint as a judge on BBC The Voice UK. These guys totally own the 'TV show tune' sector and have had their music played on: 90210, Ghost Whisperer, The Hills, Waterloo Road, EastEnders, Made in Chelsea and The Vampire Diaries.

8. Chris de Burgh - Lady In Red

Lady in Red was written for his wife, Diane and depicts the memory of when he first met her. It proves that real emotion sells because this song was a world-wide hit and his signature song.
